Managing a growing and dynamic business operation in a competitive defense ecosystem requires one to be a jack of all trades and, as the situation dictates, master of some. You should be an accomplished plate spinner, torch juggler, and task master all at the same time. You are expected to engage stakeholders, acquire new customers, shovel in leads to fill the Sales pipeline while executing and supporting your team, project execution, and supporting government mission partners. Part lion, part cheetah, part orca (don't attempt the math there); our PhDs assure us this is the correct formula for an optimal Operations Lead. Trust the science! What You'll Do:
You will be responsible for operating and growing a regional business unit, managing a high caliber team of technical performers, and fostering external relationships to maintain and expand partnerships with industry and government organizations. You will manage a portfolio of projects and contracts and build execution teams to meet the needs of our customers. You may have a hand in technical work to help build initial relationships and trust, with a goal of uplifting and empowering other team members to champion the projects and relationships. You will support capture of new opportunities including customer discovery, teaming discussions, and proposal writing. You will support interviews, hiring, and management of personnel that work under your portfolio.
Qualifications/What You'll Bring:
10+ years of experience supporting DoW programs Direct experience with DoW contracting, project management, team building, and personnel management Expertise in federal BD, proposal development, pricing, and revenue management Understanding of M&S, Cyber, or R D technical domains Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS, ITAR, export controls, and federal acquisition regulations Excellent communication skills Nice to
Haves:
Existing relationships and understanding of Government organizations in the Colorado Springs market Knowledge of local, state, and federal programs to support business/job growth Experience managing an internal budget or operating an organization as a P&L center
Education/Credentials:
Bachelor's in business, engineering, finance, or related field with at least 10 years of DoW industry experience US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government security clearance. Preferred - Top Secret with SSBI investigation completed Acceptable - Secret level clearance Existing network within DoW, FFRDCs, and national security communities
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods Ability to travel to other locations up to 10%

In support of Colorado pay transparency laws, the estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000.
