Job Description

The National Gallery of Art welcomes all people to explore art, creativity, and our shared humanity. Millions of people come through our doors each year, with even more online, making us one of the most visited art museums in the world. Our renowned collection includes over 160,000 works of art, from the ancient world to today. Admission to the West and East Buildings, Sculpture Garden, special exhibitions, and public programs is always free.
Qualifications:
Specialized Experience Statement :
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems: Experience leading a staff in the procurement of a wide variety of goods and services, including architecture and engineering and/or construction services; Experience analyzing and developing acquisition policies, procedures, and guidance; Experience within an acquisition organization for: quality control of work product; resource management,(staffing patterns and organizational alignments); supervising and/or mentoring a staff of employees; training of acquisition professionals; and assignment or oversight of employee workload; AND Experience in drafting/editing reports and presentations for senior management review, serving as a liaison to external government agencies; and providing advice and assistance to a senior leader on office management and organizational planning.

The Hiring official will review your qualifications and rate you against other applicants. If the hiring official considers you the best candidate for a position, the official would seek a waiver to allow your selection.

Qualification Standard Individual Occupational Requirements:
Contracting Series, 1102 Associated Group standard: Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
