Job Description

The Alaka'ina Foundation Family of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to support our Corporate Operations in Orlando, Florida . In this role, you will manage and oversee the full life cycle of federal contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable federal regulations, company policies, and client requirements. This role requires expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and management for government contracts, with a focus on mitigating risk, maximizing contract performance, and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and federal agencies.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manage 6 in the contracts department. Review bids, proposals, and contract modifications for accuracy and conformance to Request for Proposal (RFP). Administer, review, and manage federal contracts, subcontracts, modifications, and task orders in compliance with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), DFARS, and agency-specific guidelines. Serve as the primary point of contact for government contracting officers, subcontractors, and internal departments. Draft, review, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and federal regulations. Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for nondisclosure agreements (NDA), teaming agreements (TA), prime contracts, subcontract task orders, purchase orders, proposals, amendments, and modifications. Evaluate contractual obligations and ensure timely execution of deliverables, reporting, and performance metrics. Monitor contract performance, including invoicing, progress reporting, compliance, and risk management. Provide guidance to program and project teams regarding contractual terms, potential liabilities, and obligations. Support proposal development by reviewing contractual requirements, identifying risks, and providing input on terms and conditions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract files, records, and reports. Stay current on changes in federal contracting regulations and best practices. Mentor junior contract administrators and provide training on contract management processes and compliance requirements.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (CPCM, CFCM, or NCMA certifications) preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of eight to ten (8-10) years of experience in federal contract administration or government contracting Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal acquisition regulations. Experience with government contract types including cost-plus, fixed-price, time-and-materials, and GSA schedules. Proficiency with contract management systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, SAP, or other ERP systems). Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with subcontract management and vendor negotiations. Familiarity with audit processes such as DCAA or DCMA. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
