Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contracts and Budget Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing the full lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards, and overseeing budgetary processes to support strategic business objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional negotiation skills, meticulous document management, and a strong understanding of procurement and vendor relationships. Your expertise will drive efficient contract execution, safeguard intellectual property rights, and optimize purchasing activities across various departments. Duties Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, including procurement agreements, vendor contracts, and service level agreements, ensuring clarity and enforceability. Manage contract lifecycle processes using tools such as DocuSign, Salesforce, ERP systems like PeopleSoft, and other document management platforms to maintain accurate records. Oversee compliance management by ensuring all contracts adhere to applicable laws such as UCC law, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and organizational policies. Coordinate vendor management activities by evaluating supplier performance, managing contractor relationships, and conducting regular reviews to optimize value. Support business development initiatives through strategic planning, proposal writing, pricing analysis, and technical documentation to secure new opportunities. Implement change management procedures related to contract modifications or amendments while maintaining thorough records for audit purposes. Conduct research on legal requirements related to intellectual property law and UCC law to inform contract strategies and mitigate risks. Qualifications Proven experience in procurement, contract management, vendor management, and legal drafting within a corporate or government setting. Strong knowledge of contracts law including UCC law, FAR regulations, and intellectual property rights. Proficiency with Salesforce, PeopleSoft (ERP systems), DocuSign for electronic signatures, and other document management tools. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to review complex documents critically and identify potential issues or risks. Demonstrated ability in records management, research methodologies, and strategic planning to support business objectives. Experience with purchasing processes, pricing strategies, technical writing, and proposal development is highly desirable. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
