Jog Road, WPB 35800 Performs contract management/administration and technical work regarding Roadway projects, including administration of professional service contracts, construction contracts, grant funding agreements, joint participation agreements, and other contracts for the Engineering and Public Works Department. Drafts contract documents and Board of County Commissioners Agenda Items. Assists in the bidding/selection process for new contracts. Assists in scheduling, tracking, consultant evaluations, cost analysis, consultant certifications, grant administration, contract execution, and reports taken from drafts. Coordinates with applicable County departments, other governmental entities, professional firms, and construction contractors for technical assistance as required. Requires the ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment to analyze, resolve problems, and render advice/assistance to County and external personnel. Work is performed under the direction of a technical superior and is reviewed in progress and upon completion.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, supplemented by a certificate of completion for a related vocational training program OR two (2) years of college-level coursework in Drafting/Civil Engineering/Data Processing/Computer Science (must specify 60-semester/90-quarter hours) ; minimum of one (1) year of experience in creating/maintaining database files/programs, contract management, office management, or collection of data related to engineering, OR An Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related, OR An unrelated Associate's/Bachelor's Degree; minimum of six (6) months of experience in creating/maintaining database files/programs, contract management, office management, or collection of data related to engineering, OR Graduation from high school/equivalent; minimum of three (3) years of experience in creating/maintaining database files/programs, contract management, office management, or collection of data related to engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Access/Outlook, Experience working with contracts, Experience with engineering administration, Experience managing public solicitation, evaluation, and contract negotiation processes in strict compliance with Florida Consultants Competitive Negotiations Act (CCNA) requirements, Experience in grant management, and Experience managing and administering Florida Department of Transportation Local Agency Program (FDOT LAP) funded projects and associated compliance documentation.
