Job Description

KEY OUTCOMES
Purchases build-to-order components for use in tool assemblies according to QMS standards of quality. Establishes and cultivates a strong supplier base for various types of machined components. Monitors Supplier pricing for competitiveness and value. Assures suppliers are fully informed of product requirements Monitors and maintains vendors. Issues corrective actions as needed, makes sure they are completed and verifies the results are effective. Physically checks parts for quality.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks is essential Education and/or experience in Machining/Manufacturing is very helpful to the success of this role. Ability to proactively assess detail print content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiating skills. The Sub-Con Administrator will place and receive calls with vendors on a daily basis. Excellent computer skills. Excellent project and time management skills. Knowledge of general shop process with and measurement tools.
NATURE OF POSITION
The Sub-Con Administrator works primarily in an office environment, and has frequent contact with Sub-Contractors as well as employees. Negotiating and decision-making skills are critical, as are accuracy and attention to detail. Regular attendance is required and overtime can be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
Negotiates purchases with QMS-approved or equivalent suppliers to maximize cost effectiveness. Completes and maintains supplier audits accurately and maintains completion by due date. Solicits quotation from capable suppliers based on print requirements Creates and issues detailed PO's to the selected supplier Monitors progress on ordered items to assure timely delivery Maintains accurate supplier records and updates the GH approved supplier list as needed Communicates with other departments and shifts to ensure efficiency and quality of parts being ordered Assures that all required components are ordered in timely manner with expected receipt dates that allow adequate time for assembly into our final product. Helps develop cost reduction in manufacturing processes and develops suggestions to improve processes. Seeks additional vendors if sales volumes dictate, & audits potential vendors capabilities Company Overview Founded in 1983, G.H.
