THE WORK
Level 5 Manager - Contracts, Mission Integration & Maritime Solutions (MIMS) Autonomy, Intelligence & Maritime Solutions (AIMS) Market Segment - Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) Line of Business, Sensors, Effectors & Mission Systems (SEMS) The Manager of Contracts will lead a high‑performing team of 9‑10 contract professionals responsible for the full contract lifecycle across the Mission Integration & Maritime Solutions (MIMS) portfolio, including the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and Multi‑Mission Surface Combatant (MMSC) programs. This role partners with program leadership, finance, legal, business development, engineering, and customers to ensure timely, compliant, and cost‑effective acquisition and sustainment of mission‑critical maritime systems.
Primary Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development:
Direct supervision of contract staff. Recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, work‑assignment, compensation, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Mentor junior and senior contract professionals to build expertise in maritime‑systems contracting. End‑to‑
End Contract Management:
Lead capture, proposal development, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and close‑out for LCS, MMSC, and related MIMS contracts (USG, FMS, DCS). Develop and implement acquisition strategies that balance risk, cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Cross‑
Functional Collaboration:
Serve as the primary contract interface with counterparts within program management, finance, legal, sub‑contracts, business development, engineering, HR, and compliance teams. Provide business advice on contractual rights, obligations, and risk mitigation; coordinate solutions to customer concerns and performance issues.
Customer & Stakeholder Relations:
Build and maintain effective relationships with customer buying representatives and senior Navy/DoD officials, acting as the authorized Company representative. Influence outcomes and negotiate win‑win solutions that support mission goals and corporate objectives.
Compliance & Governance:
Ensure all contracts adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and Lockheed Martin Delegation of Authority (DoA). Lead internal and external audit activities; prepare audit responses and drive corrective actions. Reporting & Data Management Collect, analyze, and report contractual data to corporate and business‑area leadership. Maintain accurate contract repositories and dashboards for visibility into key performance indicators.
Training & Continuous Improvement:
Develop and deliver contract policy and procedure training for the team. Champion process improvements and innovative contracting approaches across the MIMS portfolio.
Basic Qualifications:
Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate a diverse team of contract professionals Excellent written and verbal communication; skill in influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally Strong problem‑solving and risk‑assessment capabilities; proficiency with contract management tools and reporting systems Extensive negotiation experience
Desired Skills:
12+ years of progressive contract management experience; 4 years leading a contract team in a defense or maritime‑systems environment. Direct experience supporting full‑life‑cycle contracts for naval surface combatants or similar maritime platforms. Prior experience with request for equitable adjustments (REAs), claims, and/or Disputes. International Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) experience

Work Remotely:
Part-time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. Schedule for this
Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $111,700 - $196,880. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
