The incumbent assists faculty and departmental leadership with proposal development, budget preparation, award management, financial analysis, compliance monitoring, and post-award administration to support the successful management of sponsored research programs. This position helps ensure adherence to University, sponsor, and regulatory requirements while delivering high-quality customer service and operational support to advance the research mission of the School of Medicine. There is one position available at various levels for the Contracts and Grants Analyst recruitments. The hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. This position is also posted as Senior Contracts & Grants Analyst (Job #37400613). If you wish to be considered in multiple pools or are unsure, please apply for both positions. The full salary range for the Contracts and Grants Analyst is $34.17 - $49.94 hourly. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $38.52 hourly. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION, WITH THREE DAYS ONSITE AND TWO DAYS REMOTE.
degree Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required experience Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience. Required Occasional travel to/from campus and various SOM locations. required Required Demonstrated skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with others to complete tasks/projects. Strong ability to organize workload when faced with competing priorities and to complete work assignments on a timely basis despite frequent interruptions. Writing skills to draft persuasive text for variety of audiences. Demonstrated ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA and FERPA. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles. Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus. Ability to manage a high volume of transactions. Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration. Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Edge or other web browsers; experience with maintaining moderately complex databases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate, using tact and diplomacy with internal and external campus community partners. Writing skills to draft persuasive text for variety of audiences. Required
