Flexible work environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance, manageable workloads, and supportive team culture Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to lead lease abstraction and compliance efforts across a commercial real estate portfolio. This role is exclusively focused on commercial assets (no multifamily experience will be considered) and is responsible for translating complex lease agreements into precise, actionable data that drives financial accuracy and operational performance. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in lease interpretation, ensuring data integrity across systems while proactively mitigating risk and enforcing lease compliance. Key Responsibilities Independently review, interpret, and abstract complex commercial lease agreements, amendments, and ancillary documents with a high degree of accuracy Own and maintain the integrity of all lease, tenant, and property data within internal systems and databases Proactively monitor and enforce tenant compliance with critical lease terms, including rent obligations, insurance requirements, and reporting deliverables Oversee rent processes, including calculation and validation of escalations (CPI, fixed increases, and percentage rent) and tenant billing accuracy Lead and/or support CAM and real estate tax reconciliations, ensuring strict adherence to lease language Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, Asset Management, and Property Management teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize portfolio performance Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance lease administration workflows, controls, and reporting capabilities Serve as the internal expert on lease interpretation, providing guidance and clarity across departments Support audits, due diligence, and acquisitions/dispositions by ensuring lease data accuracy and completeness Qualifications Proven experience in commercial lease abstraction, lease administration, or lease compliance (multifamily experience will not be considered) Advanced ability to interpret complex legal lease language and translate it into financial and operational outputs Strong experience with rent escalations, CAM reconciliations, and real estate tax processes Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience with lease administration systems and financial reporting tools preferred Disclaimer This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not represent a complete list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications.
