Job Description
Snowflake Access Governance Analyst Our client is seeking a Snowflake Access Governance Analyst to support secure and well-governed access to enterprise data within the Snowflake environment. This role will coordinate access provisioning, role administration, and governance activities while partnering with business stakeholders, data owners, and technical teams to translate access needs into clearly defined requirements. The ideal candidate combines an understanding of Snowflake and role-based access controls with strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills. This role is fully remote. PST working hours are required. Snowflake Access Governance Analyst Responsibilities Coordinate Snowflake access provisioning and role assignments, ensuring requests align with business needs, security requirements, and established governance standards. Partner with database administrators, data owners, and business stakeholders to define, create, modify, and maintain purpose-based Snowflake roles. Translate business access requirements into clear technical specifications and documentation for implementation by database and technical teams. Support periodic access reviews, role cleanup efforts, and certification activities to identify unnecessary, outdated, or inappropriate permissions. Maintain accurate documentation of role definitions, access levels, business purposes, approvals, and governance processes. Analyze access-related issues and requirements, identify potential gaps or inconsistencies, and collaborate with appropriate teams to determine solutions. Facilitate discussions with business and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve access questions, and promote consistent governance practices. Support ongoing improvements to access management processes, controls, documentation, and role governance within the Snowflake environment. Snowflake Access Governance Analyst Qualifications Experience with access management, identity governance, data governance, systems analysis, or a related function involving access controls and business requirements. Working knowledge of Snowflake architecture, security concepts, and role-based access control (RBAC), including an understanding of roles and permissions within a cloud data environment. Strong understanding of data governance, access provisioning, least-privilege principles, and access management best practices. Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, translate, and document business requirements for technical stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, data, security, and technical teams. Analytical and detail-oriented approach to access reviews, auditing, documentation, and role cleanup activities. Familiarity with SQL, relational database concepts, metadata, and data models preferred. Experience with access review, certification, compliance, information security, or similar governance processes preferred. Ability to independently organize and prioritize work, track activities through completion, and communicate progress or issues to stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered.
