The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Contract & Compliance Specialist to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Cranston, RI. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This can be an in-office or hybrid position.
Responsibilities:
Represent and protect Hilb in the drafting and negotiation of various types of agreements with Hilb's employee benefits clients. The Contracts Manager works with Sales, Service, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Legal to reach the desired business goals of Hilb, while managing the firm's risk. You will be responsible for successfully completing the drafting, negotiation, and execution of client agreements for Hilb's Employee Benefits platform Serve as the fact of Hilb and providing one of the first customer experiences for new clients. Oversee the preparation and filing of Forms 5500 and plan documents on behalf of Hilb clients. Participate as a Team member in a fast-paced, growing sales environment open to continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
College degree required JD preferred, but not required 1 to 3 years of compliance / legal experience involving contract drafting and negotiation required; proficiency with client service agreements is ideal Experience with contract management software required; IntelAgree experience is a plus Some exposure to insurance brokerage and consulting and/or health and welfare plan compliance Understanding of key general commercial contract terms such as confidentiality, indemnification, limits on liability, warranties, data privacy, etc. Excellent legal analysis and problem-solving skills that will enable you to function as the primary representative in the resolution of negotiation issues with clients and their counsel Ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving contracting issues and developing creative solutions that address client concerns and protect Hilb Provide leadership in the deals you negotiate and serve as the subject matter expert for contractual issues and questions from internal business partners Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment Ability to fulfill all job requirements as outlined above, during, and outside of usual business hours, and to do normal travel to carry out responsibilities
