ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a well-established financial services organization seeking an experienced Director of Wealth Managementto lead and oversee its growing wealth management operations. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a highly relationship-driven professional who can lead advisors and administrative teams, strengthen strategic partnerships, improve operational performance, and drive growth across a wealth management organization. The Director will serve as a key liaison between Wealth Management, internal business units, executive leadership, and external broker-dealer and RIA partners. The role will be responsible for implementing best practices, strengthening service levels, supporting advisor development, and identifying opportunities to expand the business.
WHAT YOU'LL
DOWealth Management Leadership Lead, manage, and oversee Wealth Management Financial Advisors and Administrators across Arizona and Texas. Provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to advisor and administrative teams. Foster strong relationships between Wealth Management, internal departments, executive leadership, and external partners. Promote a culture focused on client satisfaction, employee engagement, service excellence, and business growth. Provide consultative leadership while operating independently and solving complex business challenges. Strategic Growth & Business Development Identify and develop new business development opportunities in partnership with Marketing and other internal teams. Analyze business performance and identify areas of opportunity and strategic focus. Establish and implement best practices designed to improve the client and advisor experience. Collaborate with external RIA, broker-dealer, and other strategic partners to develop innovative solutions that support growth. Represent Wealth Management in organization-wide initiatives and strategic projects. Advisor Development & Financial Education Support advisors with the effective use of Wealth Management products, services, and systems. Coordinate seminars, presentations, training sessions, and financial education initiatives. Provide guidance and support to advisors to promote effective processes, accurate execution, and strong client outcomes. Maintain a strong understanding of advisor responsibilities and departmental functions to ensure appropriate backup and continuity of operations. Strategic Partnerships & Oversight Serve as a primary liaison with external broker-dealer, RIA, and OSJ partners. Coordinate compliance, operational support, and oversight with external partners. Collaborate with outside vendors and strategic partners to implement innovations that improve the client experience. Maintain strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders. Business Operations & Performance Oversee select ancillary programs and services within the organization. Plan and prepare the annual Wealth Management department budget. Produce and review monthly performance reports, including AUM, GDC, client count, referrals, and payroll. Analyze business data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring additional focus. Ensure applications, records, and data are maintained accurately. Lead department-specific projects and other strategic initiatives as assigned. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure Wealth Management activities comply with applicable licensing, registration, statutory, regulatory, and industry requirements. Maintain working knowledge of applicable requirements involving NCUA/FDIC, SEC, FINRA/SIPC, BSA, OFAC, and the
USA PATRIOT
Act/Customer Identification Program (CIP). Partner with external and internal compliance resources to maintain appropriate operational and regulatory oversight.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is an experienced wealth management leader with strong interpersonal skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to lead both people and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or recognized industry certifications considered equivalent. 5-8 years of similar or related experience. Experience leading or managing Financial Advisors and administrative professionals. Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and develop solutions independently. Strong understanding of wealth management products, services, and systems. Experience working with external RIA, broker-dealer, and/or OSJ partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Salesforce and other relevant business platforms.
Preferred:
Series 6 or Series 7. Series 63 and Series 65, or Series 66. Experience with an asset or investment management firm, particularly in data-related functions.
