Job Description

Job Summary- What is a Playformance Program Director?: The Playformance Program Director's primary jobs are to oversee and support the coaching staff and ensure the overall success of our programs. They are the primary link between the General Manager and the programs we offer. As a team, the Program Directors assist in hiring, training, educating, assessing, and supporting other coaches and staff in their specific focus area. Each member of the Program Director Team must act as a "working manager" and be available and excited to coach and teach as needed and in diverse areas. This person should be the exemplary coach in their programs. The Program Director is responsible for holding the coaching team accountable to the Playformance values and standards. They work as a mentor and resource for all coaching staff and in service to each other. This position has the following sub categories: Director of Parties and Events Director of Classes and Parkour Director of School Outreach Director of Camps Main Responsibilities of a
Playformance Program Director:
Maintenance of program quality: Keep assigned programs running smoothly, well staffed, and profitable Assess issues in programs and staff and address them accordingly Schedule and maintain staff schedules and submit for approval from General Manager Help hire, train, and evaluate employees (with support as needed) Maintain budgets set with the Finance Manager and have general idea of operating expenses and revenue for their programs Clearly communicate needs to General Manager Participate in supporting other managers Schedule and attend all trainings and meetings for program staff Development of programs: Evaluate need for increased programing Create new revenue streams through programing Learn more about specific subjects and help educate staff on best practices Assist in setting performance goals Evaluate staff and lead performance reviews with General Manager Recruit new customers Create interesting and innovative new ways to market and create sales

The most important part of this job is clear and kind . A director must be an excellent and thorough communicator with the team including co-directors, coaches, General Manager, Finance Manager, Operations Manager, Playformance owners, parents and students. They must communicate with directness and kindness as a reflection of the Playformance values.

Time Expectations:
Full time, salaried director positions require an estimated 30-40 hours/week throughout the year. During surge seasons, this may be more. During quieter seasons, this may be less. Directors must adjust to the seasonal demands of their position and the additional time it may require.
Skills Required:
Playformance Program Directors are skilled with people and love being with children and families. They are passionate about the importance of play. They strive to be experts in their subject area and are always learning. They must be lighthearted and flexible and have a true interest in kids and working on a coaching team.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:
High School Diploma Bachelor's degree preferred and/or specific education in physical education, education, child development, and/or business development. All educational experiences and work history are valued. Additional and pertinent training in specific skills relevant to director role Up to date Safe Sport Certification Current CPR and First Aid Certification Fingerprint Clearance Card/ Background check

Program Directors must have a reliable phone and communicate effectively and promptly through phone, text, email, and chat apps.
Compensation:
Salary track: Starting salary of $50,000 based on experience plus bonuses based on program success Hourly track: Starting rate of $26/hour for up to 40 hours/week. 35-40 hour average work weeks with shared responsibilities of administrative work, direct coaching, and supervising. 2 weeks or 80 hours, annually of paid time off to be used as needed with additional time available as bonuses and if needed 50%-100% discount on Playformance programs for employee and their immediate family Professional development training and many professional education opportunities
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
