This role focuses on executing business strategy, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales and profitability by setting goals, analyzing performance, and implementing action plans Lead, coach, and develop team members, including Assistant Managers and key holders Recruit, hire, and build a strong talent pipeline Ensure outstanding customer service and model brand standards on the sales floor Manage scheduling, inventory levels, and store operations to maximize efficiency Control expenses and protect company assets Foster a positive, collaborative team environment Partner with corporate teams, regional leadership, and external stakeholders to support business objectives Job Requirements 3+ years of retail leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in multi-unit retail or training Strong understanding of retail business metrics, including sales targets, inventory control, and shrink management Proficiency with POS systems and retail software, as well as the ability to process transactions and oversee operational technology Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate store needs Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to multitask and solve problems in a dynamic retail environment Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) TAM Card may be required, depending on location Additional security clearance may be required, depending on store location Satisfactory criminal background check and drug testing may be required, depending on store policies About Us WHSmith is a leading global travel retailer with over 1,700 stores across 30 countries worldwide.
