Job Description

•Req Number•188622 Job Description Oversees the development, integration, and administration of all labor relations activities within the organization. Develops and implements strategies meant to ensure satisfaction of both the organization and the union/unionized workforce. Job Responsibility + Leads the Labor Relations function by developing leaders and driving programs and initiatives that support and impact the overall Northwell health system goals. + Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, including managing through challenging situations, building trust, and creating accountability. + Strong strategic judgment and ability to think beyond the issue immediately in front of them, including understanding organizational, operational, financial, and reputational impact. + Ability to build credibility and effective working relationships with senior operational leaders, HR leaders, union leadership, and frontline team members. + Develops and articulates a long-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility. + Initiates and develops the strategic plans, policies, and procedures; identifies and develops new business initiatives and opportunities consistent with the mission and strategic direction; establishes and measures organizational performance against goals and objectives. + Establishes and maintains productive and positive relationships with key union representatives; establishes the organization's collective bargaining strategy and ensures that labor agreements are implemented and administered appropriately. + Reviews, authorizes, and prioritizes all financial and capital expenditures by assessing profitability, alignment with business objectives and budget parameters; provides financial and administrative oversight and problem resolution guidance; develops and oversees operational, personnel and capital budgets. + Oversees capital equipment strategies including inventory of equipment, purchasing opportunities and re-allocation of equipment; monitors and evaluates the impact of industry trends on the area's current business performance and competitive outlook; analyzes competitors' services and prices, synthesizes information, and develops a cohesive, integrated marketing strategy and action plan. + Ensures active communication with all external and internal constituencies to establish strong relationships that are complimentary and consistent with organizational goals and strategic needs; conducts cost benefit feasibility studies to determine the viability of new product lines or business initiatives. + Oversees current and future needs assessments of equipment, systems, and software to ensure optimal service outcomes. + Ensures compliance with external regulations and tax laws; oversees the development, review, and distribution of reports and procedural statements which ensure regulatory and policy compliance; keeps abreast of federal regulations, congressional actions, and deliberations and state and local activities. + Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification + Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. + 10-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required. + Significant first-chair collective bargaining experience, preferred, including leading complex and high-profile negotiations from preparation through ratification. + Experience handling labor relations issues in complex, highly-unionized environments with multiple bargaining units and competing priorities, preferred. •Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
