Director of Behavior Intervention Services (BIS) Position Overview Blue Sea Educational Consulting is seeking an experienced
BCBA/LBA
to join our leadership team as the Director of Behavior Intervention Services (BIS) . This is a key leadership position responsible for the overall clinical quality, provider development, operational effectiveness, and continued growth of the Behavior Intervention Services department. The Director will oversee and support BIS providers, strengthen department processes, develop training and professional development initiatives, and partner with organizational leadership to expand and enhance behavior intervention services. The ideal candidate is a strong clinician and people leader who enjoys mentoring providers, developing programs, building relationships, and creating the structure needed for a growing department to succeed. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Provider Development Provide clinical leadership, consultation, and ongoing support to Behavior Intervention providers Serve as a clinical resource for providers regarding case needs, goal development, intervention strategies, and service delivery Establish and maintain high standards for clinical quality, professionalism, documentation, and provider accountability Support provider performance through ongoing feedback, coaching, mentorship, and professional development Identify training needs and develop and facilitate department-wide trainings and educational opportunities Promote a collaborative environment that encourages provider engagement, development, and retention Department Operations & Strategy Develop and execute departmental goals and priorities aligned with organizational objectives and growth initiatives Evaluate, develop, and refine department procedures to improve consistency, communication, efficiency, and overall service delivery Monitor department needs and identify opportunities to strengthen programs, processes, and provider support Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, department performance, and long-term growth Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Compliance, Operations, and other internal teams to support organizational initiatives and ensure successful service delivery Lead and contribute to special projects and new initiatives related to the continued development of the BIS department Recruitment, Retention & Growth Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support the recruitment and retention of qualified BIS providers Build and maintain a strong network of BCBAs, LBAs, behavior specialists, and other professionals within the field Represent Blue Sea at job fairs, networking events, professional organizations, universities, and other recruitment opportunities Identify creative strategies for expanding the provider network and strengthening the department's presence within the professional community Support recruitment-focused outreach, content, and engagement initiatives designed to attract and retain high-quality providers Help identify opportunities to expand services and strengthen relationships with the communities and organizations we serve Qualifications Active BCBA certification required New York State Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) preferred Strong clinical background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior intervention services Previous leadership, supervisory, or provider mentorship experience Experience with staff training, professional development, and/or program development Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives Ability to think strategically while remaining comfortable managing day-to-day department needs School-based and/or pediatric experience strongly preferred The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: A confident and supportive leader who enjoys developing and mentoring others Passionate about clinical excellence and high-quality service delivery Strategic, organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented Comfortable building processes and implementing new ideas Skilled at building relationships with providers and internal stakeholders Excited by the opportunity to help grow and shape a department Collaborative and comfortable working across multiple teams and functions Able to balance clinical leadership with operational and organizational priorities Why Join Blue Sea?
