Senior Finance AssociateLocation:
Indianapolis, IN & Columbus, OH/ Multiple Locations AvailablePractice Group:
Business / FinanceAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our sophisticated Finance Practice Group. This role involves representing both lenders and borrowers in varied and complex financial transactions, with a particular focus on private equity acquisitions, senior debt, and mezzanine debt transactions. The successful candidate will have significant prior experience with structuring, documenting, and closing financing transactions in a wide variety of industries required. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with all aspects of complex financing and acquisition transactions on both the borrower and lender sides.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransaction Management:
Lead and manage all aspects of finance transactions, including structuring, negotiation, documentation, and closing.
Client Advocacy:
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic counsel on complex financing and acquisition transactions.
Mentorship & Leadership:
Delegate tasks to and supervise the work of junior associates, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
Business Development:
Participate in strategic business development activities to expand the firm's footprint in the finance and private equity sectors.
Required QualificationsEducation:
J.D. from an accredited law school with a distinguished academic record.
Experience:
5-8 years of experience practicing law within a law firm or sophisticated in-house environment, specifically focused on finance transactions.
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of structuring and closing senior and mezzanine debt transactions and financing for private equity-backed acquisitions.
Licensure:
Active law license in good standing in the state of practice.
Skills:
Exceptional analytical abilities, business judgment, and superior written and oral communication skills.
Candidate ProfileSelf-Starter:
A motivated individual who can work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mentality.
Team Player:
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across offices and practice groups in a collegial environment.
Authorization:
Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive Salary:
$210,000 - $235,000 based on experience and geographic location.
