POSITION SUMMARY
Seeking an independent contractor who will work as a consultant for the Center for Leadership in supporting its business development needs. Specifically, the individual will partner with the Director and Center staff with obtaining outside community leads and contracts with business partners to further the Center's external-facing leadership training initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
DAILY
PROCEDURES
  • Representing the Center in the community by building new client leads and contracts for Bringing Learning to Work, Bringing Solutions to Work, Building Better Workplaces climate survey, and Building Better Habits Leadership App initiatives
  • Researching potential clients and business partners in the community
  • Making introductions and meeting with business HR/L&D departments and representatives to present training initiatives and opportunities
  • Be prepared to speak about the Center's initiatives to anyone who may have questions
  • Cooperate in positive manner to the growth of the organization by providing required assistance to relevant staff and organization's partners when required
  • Respond to emails and phone calls in timely manner
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
  • Work with Program Specialist, Business and Community Partnerships on ensuring necessary information is collected for ASC to complete contracts and payments.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Marketing abilities - sales, promotion, networking, creative presentations, and logistics are required
  • Must be able to multi-task and balance varying deadlines
  • Must be self-driven and have passion for human capital development
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and positive professional demeanor
  • Adaptability to the changing needs of the Center and its constituents
  • Role will require acceptance of a non-compete agreement to ensure no conflicts of interest arise among existing Center relationships
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration with a concentration in Sales, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Periodic bending; long-term periods of sitting; long term periods operating a computer. Driving to and from meetings with potential clients.
