Director of M.A. Counseling Program (Remote)
About Culver-Stockton College:

Position Description:
Culver-Stockton invites applications for the Director of its Master's Program in Counseling. This full-time, 12-month, remote position begins in the fall of 2026. The College seeks a Counselor Educator Core Faculty member with the ability to guide it through the final stages of initial CACREP accreditation. The successful candidate will also teach a variety of counseling courses, Practicum, Internship, and specialty areas of Clinical Mental Health and/or School Counseling. The Director will balance strategic administrative oversight with a commitment to academic excellence, ensuring the program aligns with both institutional mission and professional licensure standards across state lines. About the
Counseling Department:
Culver-Stockton College offers a 60-credit M.A. in Counseling degree with specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and/or School Counseling. This degree prepares students to pursue licensure in most states or certification as a school counselor. The program is designed for working adults with classes offered online, live virtual classes, and a week-long summer campus residency. The program is actively pursuing CACREP accreditation and is awaiting confirmation of site visit dates anticipated for fall 2026.
Responsibilities:
Obtaining and maintaining CACREP accreditation for the program. Author all CACREP self-studies, compliance documentation, and annual reports. Planning, coordinating, and administering the Counselor Education Program. This includes providing year-round leadership for the program's operations, recruiting, designing and refining a robust curriculum, and ensuring all syllabi and assessments are explicitly mapped to current CACREP standards. Responding to inquiries related to the Counselor Education Program. Conducting program evaluation to ensure quality and effectiveness. Managing the program budget and providing input creation of the budget and making recommendations for expenditures. Recruit, hire, and mentor a diverse core of faculty and adjuncts. Establish and maintain practicum and internship infrastructures that comply with CACREP expectations for supervised field experiences. Maintain a teaching load of 18 credits annually to ensure direct engagement with students while prioritizing administrative milestones. Provide on-site leadership during required program residencies, graduations, and key recruitment events.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. A minimum of five years of experience as a full-time faculty member within an accredited counseling program. A strong familiarity with CACREP standards and accreditation; proven track record of leading an academic program through CACREP accreditation is desired. Active clinical counseling licensure (LPC, LPCC, LMHC, or equivalent) in good standing. Demonstrated qualifications to oversee clinical supervision consistent with CACREP standards. Strong record of scholarly activity, professional service, and community engagement.
