Learn more about us and our values: Position Summary The Director of Partner Development serves as the strategic bridge between Powered By Text and its technology partners — including CRM platforms, marketing automation providers, and other ecosystem players — across multiple verticals (e.g., Church, mission-based organizations, faith-based Broadcast/Media, Higher Education, Nonprofits…). This role is responsible for identifying new partnership opportunities, managing and nurturing existing partner relationships, and driving co-marketing and co-selling initiatives that expand Powered By Text's reach and revenue. As Powered By Text continues to build API integrations into partner platforms (e.g., CRM systems like Salesforce, Oracle, and others), the Director of Partner Development ensures that these integrations translate into mutual business growth. This role works at the intersection of product, marketing, and sales — ensuring that partner relationships are strategically cultivated, that joint go-to-market opportunities are identified and executed, and that the broader client base within each partner ecosystem is effectively reached. This role is critical to scaling the business beyond individual sales efforts by leveraging partner networks to access larger client pools through co-marketing, co-selling, and integrated solution positioning. Essential Functions 1. Partner Identification & Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential new technology partners across key verticals (Church, mission-based organizations, faith-based Broadcast/Media, Higher Education, Nonprofits, and emerging segments).
- Assess strategic fit of potential partners based on client overlap, integration feasibility, market reach, and alignment with Powered By Text's mission and growth objectives.
- Develop and present partnership proposals and business cases to prospective partners and internal leadership (ELT).
- Lead outreach, negotiation, and onboarding of new partner relationships, including defining mutual expectations, integration requirements, and success metrics.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor partnerships, and emerging platforms to proactively identify partnership opportunities. 2. Existing Partner Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship owner for all assigned technology and platform partners.
- Conduct regular check-ins and strategic reviews with partner contacts to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and continued mutual value.
- Manage the "care and feeding" of partner relationships — ensuring responsiveness, trust, and ongoing engagement.
- Coordinate with the Product team to monitor the health and performance of API integrations, ensuring partner platforms and Powered By Text solutions work seamlessly together.
- Track and report on partner relationship health, integration usage, and pipeline contribution.
- Identify and resolve partner-related issues or friction points, escalating to leadership as needed.
- Ensure that as new integration versions or packages are released (e.g., app exchange updates), partners are informed and supported through the transition. 3. Co-Marketing & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Develop and execute joint go-to-market strategies with partners, including co-marketing campaigns, co-branded content, webinars, case studies, and events.
- Work with the Marketing team to create partner-facing collateral, pitch materials, and integration value propositions.
- Identify common client profiles within partner ecosystems and develop targeted outreach strategies to convert partner clients into Powered By Text users.
- Coordinate co-selling efforts — working with partners to pitch Powered By Text's integrated solution to their existing client base.
- Build differentiated positioning that highlights the combined value of Powered By Text + partner platform solutions.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of co-marketing initiatives, reporting on leads generated, conversions, and revenue attributed to partner channels. 4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Internal Alignment
- Serve as the strategic bridge between Product, Marketing, and Sales teams on all partner-related initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Product team on integration roadmaps, ensuring partner feedback and market needs inform development priorities.
- Work with Sales/Strategy teams (Directors of Strategy, Pod Leaders) to ensure partner-sourced leads and opportunities are properly handed off and supported.
- Provide input to the executive leadership team (ELT) on partnership strategy, vertical expansion opportunities, and resource needs.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting partner processes, playbooks, and best practices (e.g., via Trainual or similar platforms). 5. Vertical Strategy & Scalable Growth
- Leverage deep knowledge of specific verticals (e.g., Higher Education) to inform partnership strategy and identify high-potential segments.
- Develop scalable partnership frameworks and playbooks that can be applied across verticals as the company grows.
- Identify opportunities where partner integrations can unlock high-volume or high-impact client acquisition without requiring individual sales outreach.
- Support the company's pod/vertical structure by aligning partnership efforts with vertical-specific goals and strategies. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of new partnerships established per quarter/year
- Partner-sourced leads and pipeline contribution
- Revenue attributed to partner channels (co-sell, referral, integration-driven)
- Partner satisfaction and relationship health scores
- Number and effectiveness of co-marketing campaigns executed
- Integration adoption rates within partner client bases
- Retention and expansion of existing partner relationships
- Time-to-value for new partner integrations going to market Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (MBA strongly preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, strategic alliances, channel management, or a related role.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with technology partners, platform providers, or channel partners.
- Experience developing and executing co-marketing or go-to-market strategies with external partners.
- Strong strategic thinking skills — ability to see the bigger picture and connect it to tactical execution across multiple workstreams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable pitching to both internal leadership and external partner stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple partner relationships and initiatives simultaneously, each with its own timelines and priorities.
- Comfort with data and analytics; able to track partnership performance metrics and translate them into actionable insights.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred) and basic data analysis tools (e.g., spreadsheets, dashboards).
- Comfortable with technology platforms, API concepts, and able to learn new software quickly. Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience working with or within CRM platforms, app exchanges, or technology ecosystems (e.g., Salesforce AppExchange, HubSpot Marketplace).
- Background in higher education administration or experience working with higher education institutions.
- Experience in the nonprofit, faith-based, or mission-driven sector.
- Familiarity with text messaging platforms, marketing automation tools, or similar engagement technologies.
- Experience in both strategic/consulting and sales or business development roles.
- Understanding of API integrations and how technology platforms connect and exchange data.
- Comfort using AI and automation tools to improve efficiency (e.g., preparing partner briefs, analyzing market data, drafting proposals).
- Previous experience in team leadership, mentorship, or cross-functional project leadership, even informally. Work Environment & Travel
- Remote work environment with flexible schedule; most partner and internal interactions occur via video conference.
- Occasional travel may be required for partner meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, or company events (estimated 10-20%).
- Must be comfortable working independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with distributed teams. Compensation Compensation for this role includes a base salary plus performance-based incentives . Performance incentives may be tied to:
- Achievement of defined KPIs (partner acquisition, partner-sourced revenue, co-marketing effectiveness)
- New business contributions (e.g., partner-sourced leads, co-sell conversions, integration-driven upsells)
- Strategic initiatives (e.g., development of scalable partnership playbooks, new vertical partner frameworks)
- Details of base range, commission schedule, and incentive plan will be specified in the formal offer and updated compensation documentation.
