Job Description

Education Market Leader (EML)
Job Description About Kay-Twelve:
Transform education with Kay-Twelve. We are not just reimagining learning spaces. We are pioneering them. Through our Radically Student Centered™ Approach and Learning Space Integrator framework, we partner with school districts, architects, and communities to design environments that increase student engagement, belonging, and success. Our work begins long before furniture is selected or plans are finalized. We engage early to help shape vision, align stakeholders, and guide projects toward meaningful outcomes. We are driven by a massive transformative purpose: to positively impact the learning environments of 10 million students and educators. To achieve this, we live by a set of core values that define how we work and who we are: Be The Change, You Belong Here, Listen. Care. Follow Through., and LFG!. We believe in a culture that expects high performance while valuing people, relationships, and long-term impact. As an Education Market Leader, you play a critical role in bringing this mission to life. You are at the front end of our work, creating opportunities, building deep relationships, and engaging partners early in the process. You help ensure that projects are not just executed, but intentionally shaped from the very beginning to align vision, strategy, and impact.
Who You Are:
You are driven by impact and ownership. You understand that meaningful work in education starts long before a project is funded or defined. You are comfortable creating opportunities, building relationships from the ground up, and leading complex conversations that move ideas into action. You are both strategic and relational. You know how to think long-term while staying disciplined in daily execution. You take ownership of your territory, your pipeline, and your results. You thrive in an environment where expectations are high, autonomy is real, and your success is directly tied to the value you create for schools and partners.
Role Overview:
As an Education Market Leader, you are responsible for owning and growing a defined territory. You are not waiting for opportunities to come to you. You are creating them. From the earliest stages of awareness through formal partnership, you lead the process of identifying opportunities, building trust, aligning stakeholders, and positioning Kay-Twelve as the strategic partner of choice. You operate across the full front end of the pipeline, you are responsible for creating, advancing, and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipeline Creation:
Own the consistent creation of new, qualified opportunities within your territory Proactively identify and engage school districts, A&D firms, and strategic partners Engage early in planning cycles (bond, modernization, new construction) before projects are defined Generate and maintain a healthy pipeline aligned with territory targets Relationship Depth (Multi-Threading): Build deep, multi-level relationships within every target account Identify and engage decision-makers, influencers, and key stakeholders Expand relationships beyond a single contact to reduce risk and increase influence Establish trust through consistent, value-driven engagement and follow-through Converse Stage Ownership (Opportunity Advancement): Own movement and progression of all opportunities in the Converse stage Ensure every opportunity has a clearly defined and scheduled next step Drive consistent engagement through meetings, workshops, and follow-up Identify stalled opportunities and take action to re-engage or reset
Opportunity Strategy & Alignment:
Lead the strategy and alignment for each active opportunity through Partnership Agreement Own alignment and clarity of project scope, budget, timeline, stakeholders, and procurement pathway Coordinate with the Director of Learning Strategy to engage early to support vision development, align stakeholders, and guide opportunities toward partnership Proactively identify and remove barriers while driving the opportunity to a fully aligned, partnership-ready state Partnership Conversion (Converse → Collaborate): Secure Partnership Agreements and establish Kay-Twelve as the strategic partner Lead conversations that move opportunities toward formal commitment Position Kay-Twelve as a long-term partner, not a transactional vendor Successfully transition opportunities into the Collaborate stage
Requirements:
3-5+ years of experience in education, sales, business development, or a related field Strong understanding of the K-12 landscape and decision-making structures Proven ability to build relationships and create opportunities from the ground up Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills Experience managing a pipeline and tracking activity in a CRM (HubSpot preferred) Ability to work autonomously and manage a territory with discipline and ownership Willingness to travel regionally (up to 40%-60%)
Preferred:
Experience in K-12 leadership (principal, administrator, instructional leader) Background in education sales, consulting, or partnerships Familiarity with bond funding, capital planning, or school construction cycles Established network within K-12 or A&D communities Ready to help shape the future of education?
