Exempt Position Summary:
The General Manager, Traceable is responsible for the overall business performance, strategy, and growth of the Traceable portfolio. This role operates as the business unit leader with full P&L ownership, driving revenue growth, profitability, and long-term market positioning. The General Manager will work cross-functionally with shared commercial and operational teams including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations. While these teams report through their respective functional leaders, the General Manager provides strategic direction, prioritization, and accountability for Traceable business outcomes. This role requires a highly collaborative leader who can translate market opportunities into product strategy, commercial execution, and financial results.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & P&L Leadership Own the full P&L performance for the Traceable portfolio, including revenue growth, margin management, and profitability. Develop and execute the strategic business plan to achieve short and long term financial objectives. Identify new market opportunities, product innovations, and partnerships to drive growth. Monitor key performance metrics and adjust strategy to ensure financial targets are met. Product Strategy & Leadership Lead and develop the Product Management team, ensuring clear roadmap development aligned with market needs and business goals. Define and execute the product strategy, lifecycle management, and innovation roadmap. Translate customer insights and market trends into actionable product initiatives. Partner with R&D, operations, and commercial teams to ensure successful product development and launch. Commercial Alignment Provide strategic direction to Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams supporting the Traceable portfolio. Collaborate with Sales leadership to develop pricing strategies, revenue forecasts, and growth plans. Partner with Customer Service and Operations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Market & Customer Leadership Serve as the primary business leader and advocate for the Traceable portfolio internally and externally. Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments that may impact the business. Cross-Functional Leadership Align internal stakeholders around clear business priorities and execution plans. Drive collaboration across functions to ensure seamless delivery of products and services. Influence without direct authority to ensure commercial and operational teams are aligned to Traceable s success. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in business, science, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in product management, commercial leadership, or business unit leadership, preferably within life sciences.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership and business performance management . Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority . Strong strategic thinking combined with operational execution. Experience leading product strategy and managing product lifecycles. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other essential time constraints. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization. Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization. 25% travel required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range:
$200k-$230k, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
