The Buy-Side Outreach Analyst is a high-visibility, origination-focused role on Taureau Group's M&A team, serving as the first point of contact between the firm and prospective acquisition targets on behalf of private equity sponsors and strategic acquirers. The role is built around outbound calling, email outreach, and relationship-building — limited finance background required to start — with growing exposure to the financial and analytical side of buy-side M&A as skills develop. Principal Accountabilities (Responsibilities) The duties identified below are the essential responsibilities of the position: Source and originate connections to target company owners and management teams for leading private equity sponsors and strategic acquirers through phone and email outreach Warm-call, cold-call, and email prospects from client-approved acquisition target lists to qualify companies for an introductory conversation with the deal team Partner with deal teams to build call scripts and outreach strategies that resonate with business owners across a client's target market Build and refine acquisition target lists through market mapping and industry research Research and vet leads against Taureau Group's CRM to flag existing relationships, and track and document every interaction Screen, prioritize, and profile prospective targets against client acquisition criteria Handle objections and keep prospects moving to the next step, escalating qualified conversations to senior team members Support the day-to-day management and execution of buy-side M&A engagements Assist in the preparation of financial models, valuation analyses, and investment summaries as financial skills develop Support due diligence coordination, including data room review and information requests Prepare client-ready buyer/target profiles and process updates Build relationships and maintain up-to-date contact and guidance with clients and professional advisors Engage in ongoing personal development in line with the firm's growth and development strategy Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks. 0-5 years of lead generation, inside sales, sales development, business development or related outreach experience Comfort and confidence with cold-calling, outbound email campaigns, and objection handling Outstanding communication and phone presence; ability to represent Taureau Group professionally as the first point of contact with a prospect Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally with coursework in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Strong internet and market research skills, including comfort building target/buyer universes from limited information Motivated, self-starter looking for long-term growth within a successful, industry-focused investment banking firm Basic financial analysis skills and familiarity with accounting concepts a plus; willingness to build these skills over time, as outreach ability is the primary requirement Sharp, quick thinking under pressure, with exceptional critical thinking skills Highly organized and able to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time Strong attention to detail and time management skills Willingness to take on additional work outside the scope of the job description To be considered for this position, please submit your résumé and cover letter to .
