Dispatcher Penn Tank Lines, Inc. - 3.2 Birmingham, AL Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $60,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Employee assistance program Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Penn Tank Lines is seeking an Operations Supervisor to coordinate driver schedules and load assignments at our terminal. This position supports daily terminal operations by ensuring deliveries are accurate, timely, and well-organized. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to communicate clearly while working within established processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee driver activities and address issues in alignment with established procedures and dispatch guidelines Develop and adjust delivery schedules based on routing plans and operational requirements Monitor petroleum inventories and coordinate with suppliers regarding allocation needs following standard processes Plan and adjust delivery sequencing based on operational priorities and service requirements Evaluate delivery performance and escalate service-related matters to Terminal Management in accordance with established guidelines Conduct station monitoring and load analysis to identify potential service issues and support preventative actions Review driver logs and coordinate equipment maintenance based on operational schedules and maintenance requirements
Qualifications:
Strong communication and problem-solving skills within a team-based environment Detail-oriented and dependable, with the ability to follow established processes and procedures Comfortable using Microsoft Excel; routing / dispatch software a plus Familiar with local and regional geography Able to manage priorities using defined processes and clear guidelines Able to support a schedule aligned with operational needs
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred) Experience in logistics, transportation, or customer service Prior supervisory or military experience in fuel / logistics a plus About Us Penn Tank Lines is a privately held transportation company with over 50 years of experience moving fuel and bulk products safely and efficiently.
