Job Description

Position Schedule:
12-hour shifts with every other weekend off
Shifts:
6a-6p 6p-6a
Duties:
Receive emergency and non-emergency calls from the public Gather and record accurate information from callers Determine the nature of the call and prioritize response accordingly Transcribe and relay information to appropriate personnel or departments Operate and navigate computer-aided dispatch systems for data entry and retrieval Monitor multiple phone lines and radio frequencies simultaneously Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations Assist with dispatching emergency services as needed Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Valid certificate in telecommunication or related experience preferred Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely Strong listening and comprehension skills to accurately transcribe information Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations Proficient in using computer systems for data entry and retrieval Familiarity with phone systems, including multi-line phones and call transferring Conflict management skills to handle difficult callers with empathy and professionalism
