Flatbed Truck Dispatcher Legacy Logistics Inc. is an asset and truck brokerage company looking for a reliable Flatbed Truck Dispatcher to act as a communication and coordination point for 30+ OTR, Regional and Local flatbed/heavy-haul loads. We employ a skilled team of professionals who utilize the latest technologies in order to maintain our standing as an industry leader in the flatbed and heavy hauling business. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, organized and thorough. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency and critical thinking to form navigation routes to adhere to company goals while also adhering to state and local regulations. Responsibilities Scheduling and communicating with drivers to make freight deliveries or collect shipments. Communicating with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests. Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed. Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times. Keeping track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply. Reviewing driver logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times. Monitoring truck repairs and maintenance schedules. Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints. Daily calls with drivers. Maintain log of truck and trailer numbers and collaborate with Terminal Manager on maintenance and issues as they arise. Requirements Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position Tech-savvy with knowledge of relevant methods Fast typing with experience in data entry Proficient in English (oral and written) Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities Active listener with excellent communication skills Sound judgement and critical thinking High school diploma Skills High school diploma or GED. Bachelors or associate degree in transportation or logistics is a plus. Experience as a Dispatcher/Planner required. Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws is a plus. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
