This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your organizational skills, technical knowledge, and communication expertise to manage dispatch activities effectively. You will play a key part in optimizing fleet utilization, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service through timely and accurate dispatching. Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch tow trucks and transport vehicles using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall fleet efficiency. Manage incoming calls via multi-line phone systems, providing clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Enter data accurately into logistics platforms, ensuring all freight details, shipping & receiving information, and vehicle statuses are up-to-date. Communicate effectively with drivers and customers to resolve issues promptly while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations during dispatching activities and maintain proper documentation for all shipments. Collaborate with supply chain teams, transportation planners, and warehouse staff to coordinate freight movement, schedule pickups/drop-offs, and manage 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers. Qualifications Proven experience in road transportation operations or logistics dispatching with familiarity in transportation planning and fleet management. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with experience using Vehicle Dispatch Software, Transportation Management Systems like Oracle TMS or SyteLine, and logistics tools such as Freight & Shipping & Receiving systems. Excellent analysis skills to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping, and operational metrics for route optimization. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to manage multi-line phone systems professionally. Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle dispatching procedures, and safety standards within road transportation operations. Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail; familiarity with AS400 systems is a plus. Strong customer service orientation combined with effective phone etiquette to support drivers, clients, and internal teams seamlessly.
