Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Dispatcher to support our transportation and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating freight movement, managing dispatch schedules, and ensuring efficient communication across multiple platforms. This role requires strong analysis skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and excellent communication abilities to facilitate seamless operations within a dynamic supply chain environment. Duties Assist in scheduling and dispatching using transportation management systems Utilize ELD and GPS tools to optimize routing and transportation planning Support fleet management activities, including tracking vehicle locations Enter data accurately into systems like Excel, Google drive, and shipping & receiving databases Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette Monitor shipments through logistics software, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that arise Assist in analyzing transportation data to improve efficiency and reduce costs Support freight documentation processes, including shipping & receiving paperwork and claims Collaborate with supply chain teams to streamline transportation planning and execution Qualifications Proven experience with transportation management systems is desired Familiarity with ELD, GPS, and logistics software Strong analysis skills for evaluating transportation data and optimizing routes Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in phone etiquette Ability to handle data entry accurately and efficiently in multiple systems Experience with dispatching, coordination, fleet management, and shipping & receiving processes is preferred Knowledge of supply chain principles, transportation planning, and operations is advantageous Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Proficiency in typing and multi-line phone systems for efficient communication This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics team while developing expertise in transportation management.
