Duties Coordinate vehicle dispatching by assigning freight loads and routes using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations in real-time, ensuring accurate delivery schedules. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and phone call management tools to relay instructions, updates, and resolve issues promptly. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards. Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities, freight movements, vehicle statuses, and incident reports through data entry into transportation management systems like Oracle Transportation Management. Analyze logistical data to optimize routes, improve efficiency in road transportation operations, and support supply chain objectives. Handle inquiries related to freight status, delivery times, and customer service requests with professionalism and clarity. Requirements Proven experience in dispatching within logistics or transportation planning environments. Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management, and shipping & receiving procedures. Familiarity with

GIS, GPS

technology, transportation management systems (TMS), including Oracle Transportation Management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and analysis tasks. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication skills for phone call management, internal communication, and customer service interactions. Knowledge of DOT regulations governing freight transport and safety compliance standards. Ability to operate vehicle dispatch software and vehicle tracking tools efficiently. Strong analysis skills to interpret logistical data for route optimization and operational improvements. Typing speed and accuracy for efficient documentation; experience with multi-line phone systems is preferred.
