Job Description

Job Title:
Dispatcher - Day Shift (12 noon to 8:30pm +OT when necessary)
Job Summary:
The Dispatcher plays a critical role in the efficient and effective operations of our transportation network. This position is responsible for overseeing daily dispatch operations, ensuring on-time deliveries, and maintaining strong communication with drivers and customers.
Responsibilities:
Daily Dispatch Operations:
Plan and assign routes to drivers based on customer orders, driver availability, and vehicle capacity. Monitor driver locations and progress throughout the day, addressing any delays or issues promptly. Communicate effectively with drivers via phone, or other communication channels. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to customers. Assist with the preparation of daily and weekly dispatch reports. Investigate all accidents, maintain an accident file, track causes, and take appropriate preventative action. Effectively schedule working shifts by leveraging appropriate planning tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in dispatch or transportation logistics. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in GPS tracking systems and dispatch software. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible and must be able to work overtime as required
