Job Description
Overview The Public Safety Dispatcher is responsible for making and receiving emergency and non-emergency requests for service and dispatching the proper resource for the request received. A request for service may be presented in person, by telephone or by radio communications from inside and outside the resort. Responsibilities Immediately broadcasts requests for service to the appropriate resource and logs all pertinent information regarding request in the CAD (computer aided dispatch system). Requests off-site emergency services when directed by an authorized employee. Determines the 'who, what and where' needs of the person requesting assistance, Relays the request for assistance in a clear and calm manner to the proper resource(s) of the department or off-site agency. Ensures that all information regarding the date, time of request, name/contact of requestor, nature of request, time a resource was notified, time the resource arrived on-scene and the time the resource returned to service after completion of the call for assistance is captured and historically preserved through data entry into CAD system. Monitors Public Safety Camera network. Receives required check-ins by off-site personnel and reports any inconsistencies or lapse of contacts. Maintains control of old valet parking entry requests. Chumash. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Certificate. One year of prior experience in a customer service position within gaming, hospitality, or service industry. Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet. Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends. Must have or obtain within 90 days of employment a valid security guard registration on file with the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services and maintain license throughout employment. Must have or obtain within 90 days of employment CPR certification and maintain certification throughout employment. Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency. Native American hiring preference applies.
