Job Description

Job Description ​ ​ The Dispatcher will serve as the initial point of contact for Campus Safety services, providing communications for department services. The position will dispatch Campus Safety Officers for routine and emergency situations and receive incoming communications via telephone, web-based alerts, or radio relating to Campus Safety services. ​ Responsibilities Serve as the initial point of contact for Campus Safety services, handling calls for service, general inquiries, and other requests with professionalism, empathy, and compassion ​ ​ ​ Assist a diverse campus community of students, faculty, and staff through a customer-centric approach while working in the dispatch center ​ ​ ​ Receive incoming communication relating to Campus Safety services of the college and operate the Campus Safety radio communication system to dispatch personnel for performance of duties. Support flow of information to personnel including information from outside law enforcement agencies and receive emergency alarms. Keep supervisors informed of all incidents and make appropriate notification of on-call personnel based upon published lists ​ ​ Maintain or monitor relevant computer databases and reporting systems during assigned tour including entering incident data, monitoring safety device and access system software, and Blue light emergency phone network ​ ​ Proactively monitor a robust video surveillance system to deter crime, inform patrols of suspicious activity, and research unfolding or recent events ​ ​ Monitor the Campus Safety office during assigned shifts, addressing walk-in inquiries, requests for service, and related administrative tasks ​ ​ Maintain, and be able to access, critical information related to college operations such as: daily schedules, policies, and bulletins, daily crime log, Clery Act log, vehicle tow logs, campus community member contact records, and blue light emergency phones ​ Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental needs Qualifications ​ High School Diploma or GED ​ ​ 1-3 Years ​ of work experience ​
Preferred:
