Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Weekend Dispatcher to work Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday 12 hour shifts to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient movement of freight. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to analyze data, and proficiency in various transportation management systems. The Weekend Dispatcher will play a crucial role in maintaining effective communication between drivers, clients, Duties Coordinate daily dispatching of freight to ensure timely deliveries. Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and logistics. Manage transportation planning and logistics operations effectively. Input and maintain accurate data in transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Communicate effectively with drivers and clients via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clarity in instructions and updates. Analyze shipping and receiving processes to improve efficiency. Monitor fleet management activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Provide support for 3PL operations as needed. Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, including freight details and delivery schedules. Requirements Proficiency in transportation management systems; Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess logistics data effectively. Experience in dispatching within the freight or logistics industry is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette. Ability to perform data entry efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
