Job Description

Southern Wrecker and Recovery is a premier towing and transportation service provider in Jacksonville, Florida and the surrounding area. As a highly skilled team, with over thirty years of experience, we are looking to add another dispatcher to our corporate office. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of prior experience of either, transportation or towing familiarity. This role requires previous experience in the equipment or transportation field due to the nature of our customer base and the overall knowledge you will be required to implement during your daily functions. Daily Tasks and Responsibilities for a Dispatcher include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. Call management (record call information, maintain details of each call, courteously update customers with call information) GPS monitoring and routing to ensure proper timeframes are meet for customer satisfaction and fuel efficieny Receive, prioritize, and dispatch all customer communications via telephone, email and various company platforms Customer sales (over the phone) Basic billing and accounting functions to properly price customer calls Coordinate with other dispatchers, operators and mechanics to ensure the daily operations are running smoothly Ability to multi-task and load plan Examples of Prior Experience Basic knowledge of company equipment (light duty tow trucks, heavy duty tow trucks, tandem axle rollbacks, sliding axle trailers, etc.) Basic knowlegde of customers' equipment (forklifts, dozers, wheel loaders, dump trucks, cement mixers, tractors, trailers, etc.) Ordering permits (blanket and trip permits) Customer sales Basic knowledge of accounting/billing Knowledge of local roads and routes Computer skills (email communication, Microsoft word and excel, company platforms) Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain professional under various circumstances The Dispatcher must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
