Schedule containers for pickup and delivery. Check truck drivers in and out of the yard while assigning loads in order of importance. Administer and process paperwork for drivers. Input data into a yard management system. Communicate with customers to arrange shipments to be picked up and delivered. Alter routes daily as dictated by customer requests and shipment arrangements. Solve problems with the port and shipping lines if drivers have trouble retrieving containers. Communicate with dock personnel about the live loading and unloading for OTR trucks. Coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective. Monitor drivers' productivity and motivate them to be efficient.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Outlook, Excel and Teams Experience with GPS monitoring programs. Knowledge and experience with trucking dispatch. Ability to communicate efficiently with drivers and team members. Familiarity with terminal websites. Prior trucking experience. Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
