Job Description
Logistics Coordinator / Dispatcher FS, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher for civil construction to join our growing team. We have an excellent support staff that has helped us build long-term working relationships across multiple industries including commercial site prep, road construction, demolition, boring, crushing, hydro excavation, heavy hauling and more.
Candidate Responsibilities:
Ensure loads are dispatched and delivered on time. Optimize delivery routes to reduce time and cost. Procure all necessary documents and permits for each load. Maintain effective communication with assigned drivers and determine the best course of action in resolving any issues that may arise during a load. Effectively communicate load updates with customers, particularly if any delays occur. Maintain awareness and consider any road conditions, weather conditions or any issues that may interfere with timely delivery and adjust route as needed to ensure timely delivery. Work in an on-call, after hours, environment as needed when problems arise. Aid in driver training of DOT compliance and regulations as well as company rules and processes. Track drivers log, receipts and other necessary information electronically. Oversee and coordinate regular maintenance of trucks with shop manager. Work closely with HR to ensure CDL driver hiring guidelines are met and driver files are maintained according to the FMCSA standards Monitor, manage and execute all fleet related policies, procedures and programs. Complete, obtain and manage fleet related permits, licensing, registration, insurance along with all DOT and FMCSA filings. Other duties as assigned.Candidate Qualifications:
2 years of truck dispatching experience CDL Class A preferred Must have a clear understanding of the local and federal DOT rules and regulations. Must have ability to maintain all DOT and FMCSA filings. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc. with the ability to quickly learn new technologies. Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. Self-motivated, resourceful and detail oriented.
