Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our dynamic Milk Hauling Company team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the efficient movement of milk shipments by scheduling and dispatching trucks, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining seamless communication between drivers, clients, and operations. Duties Coordinate daily dispatching of milk hauling trucks using transportation management systems. Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve delivery times. Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems and maintain professional phone etiquette to relay instructions clearly. Enter data accurately into freight management systems, including shipping & receiving logs, fleet management records. Monitor shipment progress through GPS and transportation planning tools, adjusting schedules as needed for delays or issues. Collaborate with logistics teams to plan routes that maximize efficiency while adhering to safety regulations and customer requirements. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, freight movements, and incident reports for analysis and continuous improvement. Support shipping & receiving operations by coordinating pickup schedules, verifying delivery statuses, and managing documentation. Assist in freight analysis by reviewing transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings or process enhancements. Ensure excellent communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams through clear updates and professional interaction. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a transportation or logistics environment, preferably in the food or dairy industry. Familiarity with transportation management systems. Strong knowledge of GPS tracking, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning techniques. Experience working with freight shipping & receiving procedures and fleet management practices. Demonstrated ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism with callers. Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy in systems like Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Shipping & Receiving logs. Strong communication skills paired with effective phone etiquette to coordinate seamlessly across teams.
