Job Description
T Raye Trucking Inc. is hiring a full-time Senior Reefer Freight Dispatcher in Bangor, Maine. If you open a load board and see a puzzle with miles, money, driver hours, and service on the line, you will understand this job. We are looking for a competitive, sharp dispatcher who can work the boards, build broker relationships, and keep a reefer fleet moving when the day gets sideways. This is not a sit-back-and-watch role. You will make calls, negotiate rates, protect the driver's plan, and solve problems before they turn into missed appointments or wasted miles. Good judgment matters here. So does hustle. PAY $60,000
- 85,000 per year, based on experience, performance, and role scope.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Hunt down and negotiate strong reefer freight using DAT One, Truckstop, direct broker relationships, and the tools in front of you
- Build smart plans that cut deadhead, protect appointments, and keep drivers rolling
- Stay ahead of reefer details: set points, pre-cooling, fuel, trailer condition, seals, and cold-chain requirements
- Track detention, layover, lumper, TONU, and other accessorial money until the job is closed out
- Keep drivers, brokers, customers, and the office on the same page when plans change
- Handle the real-world problems: weather, HOS, breakdowns, broker issues, service failures, and reefer alarms
WHAT YOU NEED
- At least 3 years of hands-on OTR dispatch experience; reefer experience is highly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of DAT One, Truckstop, and transportation management systems
- Proven broker negotiation skills and a good feel for what a truck and a lane should pay
- Practical reefer and perishable-freight knowledge, including food-safety and temperature-control requirements
- Comfort managing multiple trucks and changing priorities; 10+ truck fleet experience is preferred
- Clear communication, a thick skin, and the habit of getting ahead of problems
- Experience with Motive or reefer-monitoring tools is a plus
WHERE AND WHEN
Full-time and in person at our Bangor, Maine office. This role owns daily freight execution and participates in after-hours escalation coverage when operational needs require it.WHY T RAYE TRUCKING
