RESPONSIBILITIES

Dispatch around 15,000 customer delivered loads in Minnesota and Wisconsin annually. Serve as dispatch operations liaison between Hormel enterprise and motor carrier partners. Coordinate freight transportation based upon ship location. Analyze order quantity, destination, weight, delivery date and product type to determine consolidation and efficiency via transportation management systems. Source carriers based upon cost, service reliability, equipment availability and past performance history. Create solutions to challenges that effect on time delivery to customers and distribution networks. Able to work overtime when required and potential weekend rotation. Miscellaneous projects as assigned by CT management to fulfill needs of department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Demonstrated dependability due to transactional customer service requirements for this position. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills: ability to communicate with clarity and diplomacy with time sensitive/challenging issues. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Proven ability to initiate appropriate action independently. Proven ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy. Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Preferred Blue Yonder Transportation Management System (TMS) or alternate TMS experience, and or motor carrier dispatch experience. Proficiency in order processing systems. Strong organizational skills. Ability to learn and use custom computer programs. Experience with mainframe/WMS systems. At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $20.25

50 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
