LOGMET LLC
is looking for a full-time Dispatcher, Motor Vehicle, to support Picatinny Arsenal, LRC Maintenance, Supply, and Transportation services that support the installation's mission.

$ 28.37 per hour

Place of Performance:
Picatinny, NJ Hours of Operation :
The core hours for the LRC are 0700-1530 Monday-Friday/ except federal holidays. May be required to work outside of core hours as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the assignment of motor vehicles and drivers for the conveyance of freight or passengers and compiles lists of available vehicles. The assignment of vehicles is determined by factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight or passenger requirements, and preference of the user. Additional responsibilities include the issuance of keys, record sheets, and driver credentials. The Dispatcher records the time of departure, destination, cargo, expected time of return, and investigates overdue vehicles. The Dispatcher may confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise, maintain a record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses. The Dispatcher may establish service or delivery routes, supervise loading and unloading, issue equipment to drivers (such as hand trucks, dollies, and blankets), direct activities of drivers, assign helpers to drivers, work at vehicle distribution centers, and assign vehicles to customer agencies. Under direct supervision, assigns and dispatches motor vehicles and drivers to fill requests for movement of passengers and/or freight.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Compiles a list of available vehicles. Assigns vehicles according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight, or passenger requirements and user preference. Checks driver credentials and issues keys and dispatch documentation. Investigates overdue vehicles. May direct activities of drivers, using two-way radio. Observes the condition of vehicles and reports all damage, discrepancies, and malfunctions. May instruct drivers in the proper preparation of vehicle documentation. May maintain a record of passenger counts, dispatch and pickup times, vehicle mileage, and other utilization data. May be assigned to drive small commercial vehicles for military taxi service.
Qualifications:
One year of clerical experience required; one year of dispatching and data entry experience preferred. Specific position may require the individual to work rotating shifts and/or possess a valid state driver's license. Must possess or be able to obtain a military driver's license within 15 days. Must be medically qualified in accordance with company and government regulations.
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent (GED). Possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
Be a citizen of the U.S. Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess knowledge and ability to perform simple arithmetic. Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Possess excellent ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Possess the ability to work with minimal Government oversight. Possess a valid driver's license. Team player, coach, teach, and mentor.
