Job Description
Midnight Pony Express , an Amazon Freight Partner company based in Henderson/Las Vegas, NV, is hiring an experienced CDL-A Operations Manager / Dispatcher to help lead our growing trucking operation. This is not an entry-level role, not a remote position, and not a desk-only operations job . We are looking for a hands-on transportation leader who has already managed drivers, dispatch, linehaul runs, equipment issues, route coverage, schedules, and service performance in a real trucking or logistics operation. A current CDL-A is required . This position requires time in the yard with drivers before launch, active dispatch oversight, direct driver accountability, and the ability to drive when no backup driver is available to cover a callout, schedule gap, or service-critical run.
What MPE Is Looking For:
MPE is looking for a serious transportation operator who can lead from the front and is a leadership by example Pro Driver and Operations Manager. The right candidate has real linehaul, dispatch, fleet, or transportation operations experience and is comfortable managing drivers, solving problems under pressure, checking equipment readiness, protecting on-time performance, and keeping freight moving safely. This role is for someone who understands that every load matters, every driver matters, every tractor matters, and every service failure has consequences. Required Experience Qualified applicants must have direct experience in at least one of the following: Amazon Freight Partner operations Amazon Relay operations FedEx Ground BC / Linehaul Operations Manager experience UPS linehaul operations experience Trucking company dispatch, fleet, or operations supervision High-volume transportation operations managing multiple drivers and runs Experience managing 10 or more linehaul runs in a 24-hour operating cycle is strongly preferred. MPE Run Types We schedule drivers across two primary run types: Solo 2: Sleeper cab routes out for two shifts and returning the next day Solo 5: Sleeper cab routes out for five shifts, returning with scheduled days off between cycles

Solo 1 local/regional - return same day Key Responsibilities Manage daily dispatch operations and driver communication Spend time in the yard preparing drivers and equipment for launch Verify driver readiness, route readiness, equipment status, and launch execution Monitor linehaul runs, delays, tractors, trailers, route status, and equipment issues Support safe, compliant, on-time Amazon freight operations Track attendance, driver coverage, operational risks, and service performance Coordinate schedule gaps, backup driver coverage, and recovery plans Drive when required if no backup driver is available to protect service performance Communicate operational status, risks, and service issues to company leadership Coach drivers on accountability, safety, communication, and performance Use phones, GPS, telematics, spreadsheets, Amazon Relay, and dispatch tools to manage operations Minimum Qualifications •Current CDL-A required and current DOT medical• Prior linehaul, trucking, dispatch, fleet, Amazon Freight Partner, Amazon Relay, FedEx Ground, UPS, or transportation trucking company operations experience required At least 3 years of operations leadership, dispatch, BC, assistant manager, fleet supervisor, or driver management experience preferred Experience managing 10 or more linehaul runs in a 24-hour period strongly preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple drivers, schedules, routes, priorities, and time-sensitive issues Dependable, organized, professional, and calm under pressure Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, or changing transportation schedules as needed Knowledge of DOT awareness, freight operations, dispatch, shipping/receiving, and fleet management best practices Strong analytical skills for reviewing logistics and safety data, identifying trends, and improving performance Who Should Apply Apply if you are a hands-on transportation leader who is safety-minded, driver-focused, organized, direct, and calm when operations get difficult. Two drivers call out, one tractor is placed out of service during pre-trip, one inbound trailer is delayed, and Amazon Relay is showing a high-risk on-time departure window within the next 90 minutes. Walk through exactly how you would stabilize the operation, protect service performance, communicate with drivers and leadership, reassign equipment or routes, document the issue, and prevent a repeat failure.
