Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate commercial moving and delivery operations throughout NYC and surrounding areas. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub between drivers, clients, and warehouse and office teams, orchestrating the timely dispatch of freight and shipments. The ideal candidate must be flexible, detail-oriented, and able to manage changing client demands in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, route coordination, scheduling experience, and the ability to support both day and night operations. Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch drivers, movers, and delivery teams throughout NYC Schedule daily routes, pickups, deliveries, and commercial moving jobs Communicate with clients regarding schedules, updates, and service requests Monitor driver progress and adjust routes/schedules as needed Handle last-minute client requests and operational changes efficiently Maintain accurate dispatch logs, schedules, and job records Ensure crews arrive on time and meet company service standards Work closely with operations management to improve efficiency Address and resolve service issues in a professional manner Support day and night shift operations as needed Requirements Minimum 5+ years of dispatching experience, preferably in moving, logistics, transportation, or delivery services Strong knowledge of NYC routes and the five boroughs Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing client demands Ability to manage multiple crews and drivers simultaneously Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL coordination. Proficient with dispatch software, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office Exceptional communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette to handle inquiries confidently.
