HazMat Environmental Group, Inc. is the leading, North American transporter of hazardous and non-hazardous by-products, offering services in tank trailers, vacuum trailers, roll-offs, truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) vans.
Job Summary:
The Dispatcher/Load Planner serves to plan and control the dispatch of tractors and trailing equipment in order to obtain maximum equipment utilization, driver efficiency and consistent driver-to-dispatch communications. The Dispatcher/Load Planner has direct management authority over a defined group of drivers and is responsible for managing all aspects of their job performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maximize profits by planning resources to optimize utilization of company assets Manage productive driver relationships to minimize annual turnover Coach and mentor drivers to ensure their safe and efficient operation Provide counseling and discipline to drivers as necessary Relied upon to collaborate with CSR to make profit based decisions on load acceptance and network planning to ensure profitable operation of the company Coordinate and schedule outbound loads with site logistics 3PL Coordinate and schedule inbound raw material needs with site material planners Enter all shipments into TMW load scheduling system Coordinate with Buffalo office to schedule outside load resources Dispatch drivers in TMW system Confirm driver's acceptance of dispatch Maintain total mail load communications and update system info Monitor driver logs and HOS in Qualcomm system Monitor performance, payroll Monitor resolve and track all load related service issues Monitor truck location and availability Monitor trailer location and availability Update and monitor all driver payroll and cash advance records on computer Documentation pertaining to anything above
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Routing drivers Assign fuel stops Schedule trucks to shop for PM service and other maintenance related issues Clearly understand goals, policies and procedures of the company Flexibility to respond to occasional phone calls outside of regular business hours, as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Transportation/logistics experience: must have 2 years experience dispatching in commercial a fleet setting. Familiarity with Federal DOT regulations Must be able to adjust effectively to rapidly changing and unexpected circumstances in order to meet customer demands Must display strong leadership skills with proven ability to develop and motivate others Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing Must be detail oriented and be able to prioritize tasks Must have solid judgment and the ability to make profit based decisions with limited information If you are passionate about delivering excellent service and have the skills we are looking for, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
