Position Overview:
SGL is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Dispatch Assistant to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. This role is responsible for supporting daily dispatch activities, coordinating driver movements, and ensuring the timely and accurate flow of freight and shipment information. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience in dispatch, freight coordination, or logistics operations and a strong commitment to customer service and operational accuracy. Key Responsibilities Support the lead dispatcher in daily domestic dispatch and warehouse operations Schedule and dispatch drivers for pickups, deliveries, and freight transportation activities Communicate shipment details, including pickup/delivery times and special handling requirements, to customers Provide real-time updates to drivers regarding route changes, delivery instructions, and operational updates Monitor and track shipments, driver routes, deliveries, pickups, and drop-offs to ensure accuracy and timeliness Prepare dispatch documentation, freight bills, invoices, and work orders in a timely and accurate manner Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment movement Review driver logs, including arrival and departure times, to ensure compliance and accuracy Ensure adherence to transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards Log customer shipping schedules and resolve service issues as they arise Support billing processes for trucking and transportation services, including invoice completion Communicate with drivers using phone, radio systems, and text messaging to ensure efficient operations Assist in maintaining smooth warehouse and dispatch coordination to support daily freight flow Qualifications 2+ years of experience in domestic dispatch, freight coordination, logistics, or warehouse operations Experience in cargo, freight forwarding, or transportation industry preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to multitask in a fast-paced operational environment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle operational issues quickly Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Familiarity with transportation regulations and driver compliance requirements is a plus Strong telephone etiquette and ability to communicate clearly with drivers and customers
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be eligible to work in the United States Must pass TSA eligibility screening
