$63,000 - $75,000 (based on experience) About the Role Our client, a leading provider in the modular building and storage solutions industry, is seeking a Dispatcher to manage logistics coordination and support branch operations within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of scheduling, transportation planning, and office coordination. The Dispatcher plays a key role in ensuring on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency by determining the most effective transportation methods (in-house vs. third-party vendors) for delivery, service, relocation, and removal of units. This position directly impacts performance metrics such as delivery timelines, customer experience, and team productivity. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong decision-making skills, and maintains a high level of professionalism and communication. Key Responsibilities Environmental, Health & Safety Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies Conduct safety meetings and maintain safety logs and documentation Promote a safe work environment through training, observations, and regular assessments Dispatch & Logistics Coordination Manage all scheduling for deliveries, returns, installations, service calls, removals, and relocations Determine the most cost-effective and efficient transportation methods (internal fleet vs. vendors) Assign drivers, field technicians, and crews to meet 100% on-time delivery goals Review and plan daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch schedules Coordinate complex installations and removals with employees and third-party vendors Create and manage purchase orders for transport vendors Arrange permits, escorts, and pilot vehicles when required Track deliveries and driver activity using digital systems to ensure on-time performance Communicate proactively with customers, drivers, and internal teams regarding schedules and updates Confirm site readiness, access, and permitting prior to delivery Fleet & Operational Support Monitor driver logs, DVIR reports, and preventative maintenance records Ensure proper documentation and signatures are collected for deliveries and pickups Track and document damages upon unit return Maintain accurate records and ensure all paperwork is completed and filed Adjust schedules and routes as needed to accommodate changes or urgent requests Supervisory & Team Coordination Provide direction and oversight to drivers, field service technicians, setup crews, and support staff Assign daily tasks and manage workloads for employees, contractors, and temporary staff Support performance management, coaching, and training initiatives Ensure DOT compliance within the assigned territory Administrative Responsibilities Support branch operations including timekeeping, payroll coordination, accounts payable/receivable, and purchase orders Maintain office procedures, documentation, and reporting Serve as a point of contact for internal and external communications Assist with general office duties such as filing, reception, and coordination Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) 2+ years of relevant work experience (dispatch, logistics, or administrative support) 2+ years of leadership experience or team coordination preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong customer service and communication skills (phone and email) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal teams Preferred Qualifications Worked with Government contracts 3+ years of logistics or dispatch experience Experience with scheduling, route planning, and optimization Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) Knowledge of DOT compliance, Hours of Service, ELDs, and permitting Experience working with third-party vendors, including pricing and scheduling coordination Key Attributes Strong leadership and accountability Reliable and detail-oriented Customer-focused with excellent communication skills Ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
