Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our transportation team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the transportation of goods, ensuring efficient and timely delivery. Your strong organizational skills and ability to analyze transportation data will contribute to the smooth operation of our supply chain. This dispatcher will also have to understand payroll sheets for inputting purposes Into our payroll system.Duties:
- Coordinate the movement of freight by dispatching drivers and scheduling deliveries
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and optimize routes
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Monitor driver performance, including adherence to schedules and compliance with regulations
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation operations
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs and delivery documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints promptly
- Collaborate with other departments, such as warehouse and operations, to ensure seamless coordination
- Use DAT, help find backhauls, for drivers.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of transportation management principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of google sheets/ excel sheets
- Experience in asset carrier dispatching.
- Proficiency in transportation planning and routing optimization
- Familiarity with various freight types and their specific requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on findings
- Experience working with transportation management systems
