POSITION SUMMARY
The Charter Dispatcher is the first point of contact between the Operators/Drivers on the road and the office staff. They are responsible for the operations and management of trips in progress and upcoming trips. The skill traits necessary for this position shall be an ability to multi-task, retain information, and be a team player in a fast-paced environment. This position requires someone that is organized and self-motivated.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Answer and respond to all incoming communications (phone calls, emails, text messages, etc.) to the Charter Dispatch Department
  • Oversees all drivers/operators, resolving any issues and requests in a timely manner o Schedule and dispatch drivers/operators based on their abilities and company needs o Ensure all drivers/operators are confirmed for upcoming work assigned, per policy o Establish a relationship and good rapport with all drivers/operators o Maintain an open and professional communication with all drivers and operators through any means necessary and approved o Ensure that all required activities are completed § Driver Logs and paperwork § Passenger counts and documents § Ticketing and payment procedures • Oversee vehicle assignments to maximize utilization while ensuring maintenance and repairs can be completed in a timely basis • Notify other staff, as required by policies and procedures, for any deviations or emergencies while a trip is in progress • Maintain a close working relationship with all other departments and teams within the company • Be proactive in the operation and management of the department tasks under your control o Updating dispatch boards and trip schedules o Scheduling of Drivers and Vehicles o Booking and managing hotel reservations o Monitoring the maintenance status of vehicle • Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed and adhered to, and follow up on any issues that should be addressed in future policies or revisions • Review complaints and conduct factual based investigations, as assigned to your review, and follow up with appropriate course of action
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, higher/continuing education considered
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in a supervisory or customer service-related field
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Outlook/Email, Teams/Messaging, Web Browsers or Web-based Apps, and other business management software systems
  • Knowledge of Federal DOT Regulations passenger carrier rules
  • Previous Experience with a Motorcoach company, especially charter operator, preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Team player and proven ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent follow up, customer service and project management skills
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
