Velocity International Group is hiring a Transportation Operations Lead to take ownership of our growing transportation division. We are an established company with over 10 years of operational experience, existing customers, and active workflows in place. This role will focus on bringing structure, documentation, and scalability to an already functioning operation . You will work directly with executive leadership to refine processes, lead drivers, and continue building a transportation department that is efficient, accountable, and positioned for growth. In the early stages, you will operate as the lead dispatcher , with a clear path to build and lead your own team. This role is not for someone looking to manage from a distance. What This Role Requires Standard onsite hours of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM , averaging ~50 hours per week, with total workload typically reaching 55-60 hours Dispatch phone responsibility and responsiveness while operations are active Availability early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends Full ownership of dispatch operations—this role does not operate on a "clock-out" mindset Willingness to step into any operational gap to ensure execution This is not a desk-only management role. We are looking for a leader who is fully engaged in day-to-day operations. Success in this role requires a leader who takes ownership in all situations, including stepping in personally when needed to keep operations running.

Success in this role requires the ability to shift from reactive execution to proactive improvement whenever time allows. What You'll Be Responsible For Managing and executing daily dispatch operations Coordinating with warehouse teams to ensure trucks are loaded accurately and on time Communicating professionally with customers and effectively with drivers Monitoring routes, deliveries, and issues in real time Utilizing TMS and GPS systems (Samsara experience preferred) Evaluating routes, pricing, and margins to ensure profitability Documenting, refining, and improving existing processes to create structure and consistency across the department Building processes, structure, and accountability within the team Leading the hiring, training, and development of a dispatcher within the first 6-12 months to support operations and scale the team Hands-On Leadership Expectations Conduct routine vehicle walk-throughs and ensure fleet readiness Assist with loading/unloading trucks when needed Step into a truck or van in urgent situations Act as the final point of accountability—when coverage is limited or timing is tight, this role is expected to step in and complete deliveries if necessary Set the standard for drivers through direct involvement and accountability Leadership Structure & Support This role will work directly with the CEO, who has been overseeing transportation operations and will support the transition As this position takes ownership of the department, the CEO will shift focus toward warehouse operations, systems implementation, and sales growth You will be expected to take full operational ownership while collaborating closely during the transition period What We're Looking For Proven leadership experience in operations, logistics, or transportation Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure High level of accountability and follow-through Comfort with numbers, pricing, and operational performance Experience with TMS platforms (Samsara preferred) Organized and capable of building and maintaining structured processes Professional communication with clients; relatable leadership with drivers Self-motivated and able to operate independently Compensation & Benefits $75,000 - $85,000 salary (based on experience) Paid Time Off (PTO) Health insurance Why This Role Matters This is a high-impact leadership position within an established company .
