Job Description

Here's The Role Do you have a call to serve others and want to work for an organization with a mission to help? LCRA is looking for a Public Safety Dispatcher to join our team. As part of LCRA's Public Safety Dispatch team, we are focused on securing critical infrastructure and enforcing laws on the waterways and lands of the LCRA. Your work will focus on three primary functions - dispatching internal resources (law enforcement and security officers), security monitoring (cameras and alarms), and sending notifications to staff about critical incidents. We do not take domestic calls, 911, or EMD. While still very busy, we are quite different from a typical 911 center. We don't schedule by tenure. Everyone rotates shifts and holiday work preferences fairly. We operate on 12 hour shifts. This position is part time and will primarily consist of providing floating coverage for time off and working 2 weekend shifts approximately every other weekend. Answer radio traffic, and non-emergency and emergency phone lines. Monitor various security cameras and alarm systems. Send notifications to LCRA employees about critical incidents. How You're Qualified Specific to Project employment: Ability to obtain and maintain the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Telecommunicator license Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Public Safety Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) certification Ability to obtain and maintain Texas Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) Full Access Operator certification Specific to Regular employment: Ability to maintain Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Basic Telecommunicator license Ability to maintain Department of Public Safety Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (TLETS) certification Ability to maintain Texas Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) Full Access Operator certification
For Both:
Two or more years of experience in the operation of currently relevant security systems and public safety dispatch/communications or other relevant experience One or more years LCRA Public Safety experience Current certification in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED Driver's license Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required only for operation of Mobile Command Post only Must pass the CJIS fingerprint-based background investigation according to the State of Texas standards Must remain current with all CJIS training requirements How You'll Stand Out Experience in law enforcement dispatching.
