Job Summary:

The Brownfield Police Department Dispatcher will be responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police officers, fire units, EMS, and animal control to the scene, and providing general administrative support to the responding units. This position requires a high level of multitasking, quick thinking, and excellent communication skills to ensure that calls are handled in a timely and efficient manner. .

Job Description:

Answer incoming calls from the public, assess the situation, and dispatch police officers, fire department, EMS to the scene as necessary Maintain detailed records of all calls, including case numbers, location, and type of call Monitor radio channels and ensure that all police officers assigned to a call are aware of any changes or update Perform clerical duties such as filing and data entry

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years of age or older Excellent communication, multitasking, typing and problem-solving skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm in high-stress situations. Have general knowledge of basic office equipment
